5 FREE Software You Probably Didn't Know Existed!

Today, I’ll be covering 5 FREE programs you might never have heard of before.

These programs are for Windows PC's and includes a PC Optimization Tool, Disk Space Analyzer, Backup and Restore Software, PDF Editor and Screenshot Software.

Even if you already have tools for these tasks these might be better than what you are currently using!

Before we begin, I also have a video version on this subject in case you prefer to watch rather than read and the video may also contain more information than this post.

1. PC Optimization Tool

First up, we have HiBit Uninstaller, which is a program that can uninstall stubborn software, Windows applications, and browser extensions.

It also provides a lot of other features that you can use to boost your computer's performance.

Using a third-party program like Hibit Uninstaller has several advantages over the default uninstall function in Windows.
By using it, you can easily uninstall software from your PC, even if it has become corrupted and cannot be removed using the default uninstall functions.

This can save you time by ensuring that all unused and unnecessary software is removed from your system without spending time diagnosing any errors.

2. Disk Analyzer

Next up, we have WizTree, a high-speed disk space analysis tool for Windows that let's you quickly see which files are taking up the most space on your hard drive or SSD (Solid State Drive).

This is done by displaying your entire hard drive's file system visually, making it incredibly easy to identify large files and folders.

Utilizing this information, it can help you quickly and efficiently remove any large files from your hard drive or SSD.

This can be done by either deleting the large files or moving them to an external drive or the cloud.

It is very important to note that any files and folders that are required for the correct operation of your PC must not be deleted, and if you are uncertain of the purpose of a file or folder, professional IT support should be consulted.

3. Backup and Restore Software

The next program on this list is SyncBackFree.
SyncBackFree is the best FREE Windows backup software on the planet, according to them, and well, me too.

It offers a great selection of features, including file backup and synchronization, automatic scheduling of backups, and backup file compression.

It works with older versions of Windows, requires no registration to gain access, and includes a variety of helpful documentation to make it easier to use – all for free, even for commercial use.

Whenever I need to setup a backup for any computer, this is always my first choice due to it being so easy to use.

4. PDF Editor

Next, I'll demonstrate how to edit PDF files for free.

LibreOffice is a free office suite similar to Microsoft Office (which is a paid software), and it also includes a word processor, spreadsheets- and presentation software, to name a few.

I'll be using LibreOffice Draw, which was originally designed as a sketch, diagram, and flowchart software but is now a PDF editor in our case.

You can import any PDF file into LibreOffice Draw and then start editing it.
It also allows you to export PDF files with watermarks and passwords.

With the rise of A.I. tools in the past year, this method is not so good anymore, but it's still useful to know about.

5. Screenshot Software

The last program is called ShareX, which is a screen capture, file sharing, and productivity tool.

It's open source and has actually been in development for over 15 years.

It features a wide variety of screen capture methods with different regions you can select and different tasks and edits you can perform after capturing your screen, such as editing the screenshot in different ways and uploading it directly to the imgur, making it easy to share your screenshots with others.

There are also a few great productivity tools such as a color picker, image editor, video converter, and QR code generator.

Conclusion:

Out of all the software I covered in this post, ShareX has to be my favorite; which one was yours? Let me know in the comments!

I hope this has been informative and if you want to discover even more free software, check out the next post where I cover 15 MUST-KNOW Free Software for 2024 and Beyond.
