How to Install Windows Subsystem for Android on Windows 10 & 11 (WSA Tutorial)

Welcome to this guide where I'm going to show you how you can install the Windows Subsystem for Android on Windows 10 and Windows 11.

This version of the Windows Subsystem for Android (WSA) is the easiest and best way to get access to the Google Play Store in Windows 10 and Windows 11.

I also have a video version if you'd like to watch it:

Step 1: Checking Requirements

Now to get started, you're going to head to the webpage linked below.
This is a GitHub page by MustardChef that has Windows Subsystem for Android builds that he developed and there's a lot of information that you should read through on that page before you try and install this on your computer.

If you scroll down to the requirements part, you'll see that you'll need Windows 10 or Windows 11 to run on your computer.
To prevent any issues, I recommend that you have the latest version of Windows 10 or Windows 11 installed with all of the latest available updates.

You can also find some hardware requirements for the RAM, CPU, and graphics card. For the graphics, there are some additional notes for users with Intel HD graphics or users with Nvidia graphics.

Solid-state drives are recommended, and this only works on NTFS partitions.

Lastly, in Windows features, you'll need to have the virtual machine platform enabled and you'll also need to enable virtualization in your computer's BIOS settings.

If you don't know how to enable virtualization in Windows 10 or Windows 11, you can follow the guide linked below:

Step 2: Choosing the Right Build

To start, scroll all the way up on the GitHub page until you find the downloads section and then choose a build depending on your operating system.
For example, if you have Windows 10, go with one of the latest stable builds for Windows 10, if you have Windows 11, then choose a Windows 11 build.

Once you've made your choice, click on the corresponding download link and wait for the download to finish.

Step 3: Extracting and Installing

Once the file is finished downloading, go to your downloads folder, and right-click on the zip file. Use a file extraction software like 7-Zip to extract the contents. If you don't have 7-Zip, you can download it for free from their website which is linked down below.

Once the extraction is complete, open the folder and find the one that contains all the necessary files. Rename this folder to "WSA."

Next, move the WSA folder to your C drive by right-clicking on it and selecting "Cut," then navigate to your C drive and paste it there.

Inside the WSA folder, find the windows batch file called "run."

Right-click on this file and click on "Run as administrator" to start the Windows Subsystem for Android installation process.

Step 4: Finishing the Installation

During the installation process, you may be prompted with an option to enable optional diagnostic data. You can leave that box unchecked and click on "Continue" to proceed with the installation.

Once the installation is complete, the Windows Subsystem for Android will be launched. You'll see Google Play asking you to sign in. Go ahead and sign in with your Google credentials.

Step 5: Testing the Installation

After signing in, you have successfully installed the Windows Subsystem for Android on your Windows 10 or Windows 11 computer. You can now explore various apps and games available on the Play Store and install them within the Windows Subsystem for Android.

I hope this guide helps you out, if you found it useful, please like the YouTube video to support the channel.

See ya!
